A Box From Grandma K and Grandpa J

It's always SO exciting to get one of Grandma Karen's boxes in the mail. You should have seen Aiden's face when he came to get the mail with me and I told him that there was a box for them! When we brought it inside he quickly pulled all of the contents out and without any hesitation, immediately put on the pinwheel headband, and continued to open the rest. Quinn at first refused to wear her headband, but had a change of heart and insisted on wearing them to the grocery store that evening! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!

Beautiful Spring Day

Today was a beautiful day, perfect for doing yardwork and letting the kids play outside. While Jas struggled with a stubborn, dead tree, the kids painted the sidewalk and played with chalk.

Lightning the Fish

For Aiden's Birthday, Grandma and Grandpa got him a new fish tank- it was supposed to be for our beloved Nemo, however Nemo didn't make it to the birthday. He died 5 days short of getting to stretch his fins in a nice, big, new tank... Well as Aiden told me "relax, mom, we can get a new fish"... Yesterday we went to the pet store so Aiden could pick out his new fish and accesories for the tank. He had already named him "Lightning". Quinn still calls him Nemo, which upsets Aiden. She says Nemo is his last name! Aiden keeps saying "Lightning won't die because he is in a tank (as opposed to the "cruelty bowl" aka fishbowl)" No pressure, right???

Grandpa Bob, Grandma Dottie and Auntie Jen Visit!

Everyone flew in on Friday afternoon to spend the weekend. We were all surprised by the weather, as it snowed all day Friday and most of Saturday! Pretty unusual for the middle of April, but the kids were thrilled to be able to play in the snow again! We spent a lot of time around the house, the kids playing with everybody. We took the kids to swim lessons on Saturday and Aiden amazed us all by finally getting off the steps with the instructor! We had a nice dinner out on Saturday night and really enjoyed the time together. Hope you all come back to visit again soon!

Aiden's Birthday Party

Today was Aiden's party at Jump Planet. We all had a great time bouncing and sliding! Aiden had so much fun with all of his friends and it was nice to be able to chat with the mommies! Of course great cake made by Grandma. Great party- poor Tia slept through the whole thing!

I just LOVE this picture! The look on Aiden's face is priceless, he's having SO much fun, just so happy- love it!

Birthday Celebrations

Aiden woke up around 6:45 this morning and came into our bed to snuggle. Daddy was teasing saying we would have his birthday tomorrow. Aiden said he wanted his birthday to start "now!". He chose to have donuts in bed instead of cake. After donuts, he opened his presents and then he was very excited to go to school. We brought chocolate cupcakes and all of his friends sang happy birthday to him and he got to wear a special birthday hat. Grandma and Grandpa brought his favorite pizza over for lunch after school and he got to open more presents! Daddy is bringing his favorite meal home for dinner. Tomorrow is his party at Jump Planet. He has had a great day and is sure that now that he is 5 he is much taller and even wondered if school this morning was going to be the same school (or his new kindergarten). Five really changes you :) He told me yesterday that he couldn't control himself, but that maybe tomorrow when he was 5 he would be able to "because 5 year old boys can control themselves, not 4 year old boys"!!
