Microsoft Picnic

We went to the Microsoft Company Picnic Saturday after Thomas. It was a lot of fun and just amazing how over the top MS goes for the families. They had TONS of bouncy houses, pony rides, train rides, face painting- basically you name it and it was there. It was a busy day and at the end we were ALL tired!

A Day Out with Thomas

This past Saturday morning was very exciting! We drove out to North Bend for 'A Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine'. It was really cute. Aiden was also VERY excited that we parked at a middle school and got to ride a school bus to where Thomas was. It was alot of fun and the perfect day for it. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

July 13th

After searching the area all morning for a decent size inflatable pool with no luck, we brought out the boring old ball sprinkler. As you can see Aiden was a little more interested than Quinn. You can see her reaction go from 'I'm close' to 'I'm WET!' to 'I'm PISSED!'

4th of July

The 4th was a beautiful day here and we spent it with Jim, Karen and Mom and Dad. Jason worked the BBQ while the kids (and Mommy) played with the tractor. We walked to the park once it got dark and watched the many fireworks in the neighborhood. It was a great day.

Grandma Karen and Grandpa Jim Visit!

The kids had been waiting for Grandma Karen and Grandpa Jim to "surprise" them with a visit. Aiden had told Grandma that the next time she came to Washington to surprise him and then he added that he wanted her to leave a trail of presents on the doorstep when they came. So for the past several MONTHS Aiden has been awaiting his surprise!
We had a very nice visit and the kids enjoyed LOTS of attention! We all hope you come back soon.

Slip N' Slide

It was a very hot day in Seattle, so Grandma and Grandpa broke out the slip and slide for the kids. Quinn wasn't having any of it- it was too hot outside, so she wanted to stay inside. Aiden wanted to do it, but only if he was on Jason's back. Poor Daddy!

Butterflies in a Box!

Uncle Scotty and Kristen sent the kids a really cool "project". The box came with 5 caterpillars in a cup with their food, a habitat for the butterflies to live in, a poster and a dvd. You can see how excited Quinn was to see the caterpillars in the cup for the first time! She named 3 of them, Pet, Buster and Quinn. Aiden named the other 2- Frank and Aiden.
They loved coming downstairs every morning to see the caterpillars and to talk about how much they had grown. Quinn would go get the stool from the bathroom every morning and park it at the counter and watch them for a LONG time. She had some very cute questions/observations about them:
"Mommy, why are caterpillars legs a little pointy?"
"Do caterpillars have fur?"
"Those caterpillars were fighting, I think they're brother and sister."
"Someday can I have caterpillars in my room? oh, and a TV."
"Are caterpillars eyes too small for us big kids to see?"
After about a week, we came down and saw that all of the caterpillars had formed their chrysalis and were hanging from the top of the cup. After another week I noticed that one was missing and realized that a butterfly had emerged. We watched carefully and got to see 2 of them come out of the chrysalis. It was VERY exciting! Unfortunately we had one that was injured coming out of the chrysalis and one that may have been hurt in a Molly induced fall off the counter, so those 2 couldn't fly away when we let them go.
Definitely a cool "toy" and we are planning on ordering more caterpillars soon! Here's a link to the website : http://www.insectlore.com/info.html

Aiden's Last Day of School

Wednesday, June 18th was Aiden's last day of preschool. He was very excited to have us come watch his class sing songs and have a party. We can't believe that he's starting Kindergarten in the Fall!
