Jason's 30th

Happy Birthday Jas! Welcome to 30, old guy! For Jason's big birthday I took him up to Whistler in Canada for the weekend. The drive Friday was pretty long, but it was nice to have several hours of uninterrupted time to talk. When we finally got to our room we had a nice surprise from Brian, Jill and Jake. They had sent a plate of giant chocolate covered strawberries to the room for Jason's birthday. I would have liked to have taken a picture of them, but after 6 hours in the car it was too much to ask to wait the 5 minutes until our bags with our camera arrived in our room!

Saturday we walked around and looked in all of the shops (even though Jason said we weren't going to shop on his birthday weekend). We went into an activity center with info about what to do in Whistler and decided to go up to the tube park. It was so much fun and a real workout too!

Sunday was reserved for snowboarding. Oh snowboarding, where do I begin... It started out by us getting on the wrong lift and having to figure out how to get to the "easy" area. I'm really good at the whole snowboard strapped to one foot, walking thing. Jason then spotted a green (easy) run that was supposed to take us down the mountain. I was a little concerned about leaving the area that had a gondola that I could just get on and take back down to the bottom of the mountain. I spent no less than an hour from the time we got off the lift and had moved about 10 feet when an employee on a snowmobile finally stopped and asked if we knew there was a beginner area just to the right of where we were. Then he offered me a lift on the snowmobile. Once in the beginner area I was much more comfortable and after Jason went down the bunny slope with me once I let him go up further and do a "real" run. When he came back I took a bad fall and then he went up one more time and I took one more fall and that was it, I was done. I went back to the room and had lunch and showered and shopped while he spent the rest of the day snowboarding. We went out to dinner Sunday to a great Thai restaurant to celebrate his birthday. We had a great weekend and can't wait to go back to Whistler again!

how was the bathroom at the thai place -- was there 2-ply paper? you should have the chief help with your narrative -- think you are missing some adjectives -- flor and fauna

sounds like a perfect day to me. Two runs down the hill and a peaceful afternoon of shopping, followed by a nice dinner. What more could a girl ask for on her husbands big "3 - 0".
