Aiden on the School Bus

After the first 2 weeks of school with Aiden in the afternoon kindergarten class, I got a call from the principal saying he had been moved to a new morning class. His original class was overcrowded so they hired a new teacher and started a new class. Much to my dismay this meant he had to ride the bus to school 2 days a week so I could get Quinn to preschool on time too. He was ecstatic!

Quinny Ballerina!

Quinn wanted to "model" her ballerina gear and have me take her picture. There were also MANY pictures of her baby...

Earring Day!

Today Quinn told me that she was ready for earrings. She's been talking about earrings for a long time, but once I explained to her how they are done she decided to wait. I told her that whenever she was ready to do it, I would take her. So today was the day. We were waiting at school for Aiden's class to start and a girl in his class had earrings that she noticed. She said she wanted to go "right now and get earrings" I asked if she remembered how they do it and she said "yes, they will make a tiny hole in my ear and it will hurt." Ok, so if they do one they are GOING TO DO BOTH. "yes mommy, I know." Well, I'm sure you can guess how it went. In her own words "it didn't went good". After a very lengthy earring selection process, she chose a very cute flower earring. She was very eager to get started yelling " I want my earrings" while I was at the counter signing the release. Only moments later, in the chair you would have thought I had drug her to the store against her will and forced her into the chair. After the first earring, it sounded like someone had stabbed her repeatedly. She was screaming bloody murder for all the mall to hear! At least an hour later, she is still screaming, I'm sweating and many bribes have been offered- still only one earring. Finally, we decided our only option left- the strong hold.
To make a long story short- it's done and she's happy now! She says she never wants to change them. Wow am I glad it's over!

Olallie State Park- Twin Falls Hike

Today was the perfect day for a hike. The weather was great, a little cool when we started, but nice. We packed a lunch and headed out to Olallie State Park near North Bend. The area is so beautiful. The hike was really nice, right next to a river and at the end there was a beautiful waterfall. Quinn cried a little on the way back because her legs were "bumpy" I think she meant they were a little shaky from walking and climbing.

Aiden's First Day of Kindergarten!

Today was Aiden's first day of Kindergarten at Forest View Elementary. He was very excited and maybe a tiny bit nervous, but not really. Once it was time, his teacher came out and they all lined up and said goodbye to mommies and daddies and then filed inside the school. He turned and looked at Jas and I with a smile on his face and it just hit me how old he is.
Can you hear the rockets?

Standing in line...
There's that "It's okay, Mommy" smile...
And he's off...

Quinn's First Day of Preschool!!

Quinn's first day of preschool was today. She has been preparing me by telling me to "never leave her" and informing me that "i will cry". There were tears, from both of us, but overall she did very good and had fun. She talked most about the playground, telling me about the different slides, saying she had SO much fun, but does not want to go back! I can't believe that both of my kids are in school!!! sniff, sniff...
Having her kix's on the "special plate"
Aiden hugging her "without touching her"

I can't believe how big she looks!
